Actually we don't even know whether there exists such a demand in this world though, "ADJ mobile" is now available, by using "Google Mobile Proxy" the service which translates internet sites for PC into those for mobile device.

If you would like to access to ADJ outside by using your cell-phone or something, please make best of the new-launched ADJ Mobile now!!

I'm sure there are a lot of things to be left though, we intend to keep improving it.
As the saying goes, "Failure teaches success"

As almost all of Japanese Otakus know, the part of the latest title of Suzumiya Haruhi is supposed to be published on the light novel magazine. Since the previous title of Haruhi series "Split of Suzumiya Haruhi" shipped, it has been already 3 years. The publication of the latest title has kept been put off well. So the recent notice of the advent of Haruhi (although partly) was literally what every fan had longed.

On the other hand, among the otaku netizens there still exists an ominous rumor; complete version of the work wouldn't come at least in this year. Unfortunately there are good reasons for them to fear it. They say "Remember, we have kept betrayed for years."

Eric P. Sherman, President and CEO of the anime dubbing company Bang Zoom! Entertainment, has posted an editorial on the AnimeTV blog on Saturday, urging fans to buy anime instead of watching it via fan-subbed videos. In the "Anime - R.I.P." editorial, Sherman wrote that if fans do not support anime by buying it legally, "I can guarantee you that this time next year, Bang Zoom won't be bringing you anymore English language versions of it."

Sherman added in his editorial, "If people don't resist the urge to get their fix illegally, the entire industry is about to fizzle out." Sherman cited the demises of Geneon Entertainment USA, Central Park Media, and ADV Films, as well as the January 2009 layoffs at Bandai Entertainment, as past examples. Sherman also wrote about the rise of streaming content online, but added that "so far, there are no successful ways to monetize online entertainment. Not so that creators can afford to produce and distribute quality content."

The online free downloadable Hentai game "se・KIRARA" suddenly came to be unavailable. Reportedly it was because of copy right related problem; the picture of nurse's office in the game allegedly traced over the picture uploaded on internet without permission (pictures for comparison above). The “evangelionized” LAWSON suddenly stopped its campaign activity on 25th April, which was originally supposed to continue by 17th May. The companies in charge proclaimed. It was because of chaos around the Hakone city in which the convenience store was located. With traffic congestion and noise, or other bad manners, people coming the store (almost all of them otaku) had disturbed the locals. In day & night, all day, the store was always packed with otaku customers, on the other hand, conflicts between customer and the locals had happened around the place. Comments on 2channel are following:

・Not “Angels attack” but “Otaku Attack” huh?
・It’s predictable.
・It reminded me of the power of Evangelion.


I intended to go there in Golden Week...

Evangelion, the legendary animation, took up Japan last year because of it brand-new series of movies “序, Zyo (beginning) ” & “破, Ha(breaking)”. In such condition in which “Eva-Fever” still float, Evangelion finally took over one LAWSON, the convenience store which has tie-up with Evangelion, in Hakone, Kanagawa Pref. Its branch name is “Tokyo-Ⅲ” the city in which headquarter of NERV is located in the animation. In the hi-jacked store, you can see big posters of Rei Ayanami & Asuka Langley Soryu all around, and other Eva-designed products like “Karaage-kun(kind of Fried Chicken)”. Outside and inside of store, even products, everything gets “Evanized”.

In the cold rainy weather, the Evanized LAWSON suddenly came to appear in Hakone city. This was the part of campaign for the sales of Blu-ray & DVD of “Evangelion the movie, Ha”. the work’s original city Tokyo-Ⅲ is modeled after the city Hakone-cho Sengokuhara. This time, LAWSON Hakone-Sengokuhara branch got transformed into the LAWSON Tokyo-Ⅲ branch. What you should pay attention is off course the Evanized all-blue interior decoration.

There are huge poster of Rei Ayanami & Aska Langley Soryu on drink goods counter, and illustration all over the store, mangas of Evangelion on books counter. BGMs are filled with soundtrack of Evangelion. Literally every single stuff gets covered with Evangelion.

If you are one of the fans of the work, it surely is attractive for you that the shelves are crowded with corroborated products of Evangelion. 冷たい雨が降りしきる箱根の町に、突如として現れた人だかりのローソン。これは映画『ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:破』のBlu-ray&DVD発売を記念して行われるキャンペーンの一環で、劇中の「第3新東京市」のモデルとなった箱根にあるローソン箱根仙石原店(箱根町仙石原)が「第3新東京市店」として変身したもの。注目は何と言っても、ブルー一色に染まったエヴァ仕様の内装だ。

ドリンクコーナーには、綾波レイやアスカの巨大ポスターが張り巡らされたり、店内全面にエヴァのイラストがほどこされたりと、いつものローソンの装いとは別物。雑誌コーナーに置かれているのはエヴァの漫画だったり、店内のBGMがエヴァのサントラだったりとそのこだわり方はハンパではないのだ。

 子供の過激な性行為を描いた漫画やアニメなどいわゆる「2次元児童ポルノ」の規制に向け、東京都が今定例議会に提出した青少年健全育成条例の改正案について、都議会総務委員会は19日、全会一致で継続審議を決め、審議を6月議会に先送りした。
 都議会自民、公明両党は当初、今定例議会での成立を目指したが、漫画家や出版業界などの反発に加え、最大会派である民主党なども継続審議を主張したことから、早急な成立は不可能と判断した。
 同委員会で、民主都議は「条例の理念には賛同するが、児童ポルノの(概念における)新規定などを慎重に議論し、都民の改正案への誤解を払拭(ふっしょく)するべきで、審議継続を求める」とした。
 一方、自民都議は「条例は早急に実施すべきだが、誤解に基づく反対もある。継続審議は理解できないが一部の会派以外、理念を共有している。改正案を円滑に進めるためにやむを得ない」と述べた。
 また石原慎太郎都知事は同日の記者会見で、「継続審議で色んな意見を聞き、誤解も解くことで、きちっとした条例に収斂することは好ましい。拙速にすることはない」と述べた。

Last summer DPJ win a landslide victory in national election(election of the house of representative) and they come into power. So if the bill were to be concluded in metro assembly, national policy would not have follow it.

Bandai to Open Official Gundam Café at Akihabara

The Japanese conglomerate Bandai has announced on Thursday that it will open an official Gundam Café just outside the Akihabara Japan Railway station on April 24. The station is the most well-known way to get to the anime- and game-related shops in the Akihabara neighborhood of Tokyo.

The 60-seat, 144.2-square-meter (about 1550-square-foot) café will serve an exclusive Jaburo Coffee blend made from South American coffee beans, as well as Gun-Pla-yaki — a large-sized, fried take-out dish modeled after the very first 1/144 Gundam plastic model kit ever sold. Why did Qlipso buy out veoh?: The interview with the CEO of Qlipso

The long, sad tale of video site Veoh seemed to be in its final chapter when founder Dmitry Shapiro declared the company was filing for bankruptcy back in February. The copyright litigation with Universal Music Group proved to be too costly and too distracting, even though Veoh won a summary judgement in its favor. Qlipso, on the other hand, is a startup developing a virtual room platform where people can share videos and other Flash media, while chatting via text, video chat or avatars. I spoke with Qlipso CEO Jon Goldman by phone today to ask what possessed him to do the deal.

“This is an exotic venture strategy,” he admits, “Qlipso is an early-stage R&D company transforming into an business with scale and audience.” Qlipso gains an instant audience, a better-known brand, and relationships with advertisers. Goldman thinks the deal will help to establish Qlipso faster than he could have done on his own. “I think we have accelerated this by years,” he says. “We have a 5-person sales team in NY, a large audience, it is completely transformational.” If Veoh had gone ahead and shut down the site, he notes, there would have been no deal.

Goldman would not disclose the price, but the asset sale was funded by Qlipso’s main investor Jerusalem Venture Partners. “This is a significant bet for an early stage venture capital fund,” is all Goldman will say. Over the years, they’ve put a few million dollars into Qlipso, and injected multiple times their previous investment to finance the acquisition. Part of the cash infusion will also go towards the capital required to keep operating the site. Whatever the acquisition price, it was a fraction of the $70 million investors as varied as Michael Eisner, Goldman Sachs, Time Warner, Intel, and Spark Capital put into Veoh over the years. The proceeds will now be split up among creditors and, if anything is left, the investors.

The Qlipso virtual rooms will become incorporated into the Veoh site, which will also be used to distribute more individual downloads of the Qlipso software. Watching videos on Veoh will become more social. You will be able to invite your friends to watch videos in a virtual room, or join existing rooms. Whether or not people actually want to watch videos this way remains to be seen, but now Qlipso has a large audience to test its technology on. Veoh’s demographics are also skewed towards young males who like sci-fi and anime, a group Qlipso is targeting. The first Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) will be hosting back-to-back screenings of the Gurren Lagann compilation movies, Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End- and Gurren Lagann The Movie 2: The Lights in the Sky are Stars. The expo will be held from April 16 to April 18 at the Lakeside Center at McCormick Place in Chicago. Reed Exhibitions, the company behind New York Comic Con and the New York Anime Festival, is holding C2E2.

Aniplex previously premiered the English-subbed first part of Gainax's theatrical remake of its Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann robot action anime series, Gurren Lagann the Movie –Childhood's End-, at Anime Expo in July 2009. The Viz Cinema theater in San Francisco then held the American premiere of the second film, Gurren Lagann The Movie 2: The Lights in the Sky are Stars, in November. Bandai Entertainment brought the original television series to North America on DVD, as well as on the Sci Fi Channel (through Manga Entertainment).

Aniplex America, who will also host a panel at the convention, launched a website earlier this month under the domain name gurrenlagannthemovieusa.com.

C2E2 will also screen Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (Evangelion Shin Gekijōban: Jo) and Eureka Seven - good night, sleep tight, young lovers - during the convention.

The survey asking “how many dates have you done until you get first kiss with your girlfriend” was taken for 131 male members of COBS ONLINE. The majority of the number of dates for first kissing was 3rd time (28.2%), 2nd was 1st time (21.4%), and 3rd was 2nd time (20.6%). Unexpectedly a lot of guys make first kissing in their 1st date. It seems like Japanese guys aggressively try to get lips of women.

Japanese Astronaut Cosplays in Space

On Saturday, the Japanese space agency JAXA posted a photograph of astronaut Sōichi Noguchi wearing the signature red-arrow-on-white shirt of Susumu Kodai, the main character of the classic anime Space Battleship Yamato. (Susumu Kodai was known as Derek Wildstar in the American adaptation Star Blazers.) Noguchi has been aboard the International Space Station (ISS) since last December, and the photograph was taken on Thursday.

A day earlier, fellow Japanese astronaut Naoko Yamazaki came to the station after the Space Shuttle Discovery docked as part of Mission STS-131. The photograph above shows Noguchi (left), Yamazaki (right), and another fellow Discovery astronaut, Stephanie D. Wilson (center), within the station's Destiny module.

According to JAXA, both Noguchi and Yamazaki were fans of Yamato as children, and the space opera anime inspired both to become astronauts. Yamazaki was also a fan of the Galaxy Express 999 anime, which Yamato co-creator Leiji Matsumoto conceived. Matsumoto now chairs the Young Astronauts Club (YAC) of Japan, and Yamazaki serves as a vice-chairperson.

During a YAC ceremony last December, Matsumoto presented Yamazaki with a wristwatch that he designed himself. The wristwatch is date-stamped "1999" and has the serial number "1999" — to commemorate the year that Yamazaki became an astronaut candidate. Yamazaki even made a special guest appearance in an episode of Rocket Girls, the anime based on Housuke Nojiri's science-fiction novel about a Japanese girl who becomes an astronaut.

On Thursday, Yamazaki and the rest of the Discovery crew woke up to Joe Hisaishi's "Hato to Shōnen" ("The Pigeons and a Boy") song from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Laputa: Castle in the Sky film. When Noguchi was part of the Discovery crew on July 29, 2005, he woke up to Hisaishi's "Sampō" ("Walk") song from Miyazaki and Ghibli's My Neighbor Totoro film, as sung by Noguchi's daughters and the other students at the Houston Japanese Language School.

Daisuke "Dice-K" Enomoto, an early investor in the Japanese Internet firm livedoor, had planned to travel to the ISS in 2006 as the world's fourth "space tourist" — complete with a cosplay outfit modeled after the uniform of Mobile Suit Gundam anime character Char Aznable. However, Enomoto was unable to fly to the station due to a physical exam.

Buddha said "you could never talk about life after death, and it was waste of time." I think that’s clearly true. But no matter how many people historically have adhered to their lives after death. It even has caused so much trouble in real life. It maybe leads to the conclusion that religious doctrine can’t defeat worldly human aspiration and respectability.

The nation’s largest online forum, 2channel, draws millions of people ranging from the benign to the malignant, from police hunting criminals to politician and corporations keeping their ears to the rail of public opinion.
Key to 2channel’s power, and gravitational pull, is its anonymity. Its user can be frank, slanderous, and even criminal. Police use 2channel to combat crimes, especially posted threats. When they come upon such malevolence, they solicit IP address and other information on the parties involved.
Following are questions and answers regarding 2channel:

What is 2channel?
It is an open-anyone text-only online bulletin board – Japan’s largest and arguably one of biggest worldwide. Because of loose rules, messages can be posted anonymously. Hiroyuki Nishimura created 2channel when he was a college student in Arkansas in May 1999. Hiroyuki, as he prefers to be known, is now a board member of Niwango Inc., which operates the video sharing Web site Nico Nico Douga. His brainchild is now divided into about 50 categories, among them recipes, real-time coverage of news events, sex gossip, high-tech gadgets and computer news. Each category has dozens of topics, those in turn have hundreds of threads, each with up to 1,000 postings.

How widely accessed is 2channnel?
Nishimura wrote in his book “Bokuga 2channel wo Suteta Riyuu” (“The Reason I Abandoned 2channel”), published last June, that the Web site has 10 million users per month. Junichiro Nakagawa, who authored “Webu ha Baka to Himajin no Mono” (“Internet is Meant for Idiots and Bored People”), published last April, said 2channel users number between 12 million and 16 million.

Why has it become so popular?
The huge success has been attributed to users being able to post and exchange messages without having to reveal their identity. “It’s where idiots can be the idiots they want to be. It’s where they are allowed to say thing they don’t need to take responsibility for,” Nkagawa said, adding that “in the world of Internet, winner takes all. It’s more fun to go to the bulletin board where more people write comments.”

What are 2channel’s sources of revenue?
The bulletin board carries a number of banner ads, mostly from companies peddling consumer loans and adult content products. Also, people are required to pay to read past postings, which are stored in separate archives. Nakagawa said the majority of revenue probably comes from the ads, because that is typically the business model of similar Web sites.

Who owns 2channel now?
Singapore-based Packet Monster Inc., to the surprise of the Internet Industry, bought the operating right from Nishimura in January 2009 for an undisclosed sum. Little is known about Packet Monster Inc. In his book, Nishimura said it is more interesting to leave a veil of mystery over the firm’s workings. It has been speculated that Nishimura sold off the operating rights to avoid lawsuits involving 2channel – an allegation that he neither admitted nor denied in his book. “It’s amusing” to let the speculation stand, he wrote. “There were few things I was supposed to do in operating 2channel. That was one of the biggest reasons” why the operating rights was sold, he also wrote.

Has there been any significant change for users after 2channel was sold?
Just as Nishimura predicted, nothing changed. He said in his book that he had little to do with day-to-day operations because of procedures, including deleting problematic postings to keep the operation smooth, had already been systemized and there was no room for him to intervene, except that he sometimes had to mediate disputes among volunteers who managed the site.

What major controversies have involved 2channel?
the forum often draws flak for spewing slander and carrying information harmful to the public. For example, someone posted information on how to produce hydrogen sulfide, a lethal chemical used for pain-less suicides. There have also been many chemical cases involving 2channel users. A man was charged last October for posting a death threat targeting land minister Seiji Maehara. A yakuza indicted for ramming a truck into a car carrying a rival mob boss last September has allegedly admitted he committed the act after reading a 2channel posting that claimed he was scared of the rival organization, according to a report by the Asahi Shimbun. There are also many potential cases of defamation and privacy infringement in 2channel postings. Nishimura has been targeted by several lawsuits seeking deletions of libelous postings and compensation for damages. He lost most of the lawsuits because he didn’t show up in court. But he also has never paid any of the court-ordered compensation to plaintiffs, according to media reports. However there were media reports Monday that compensation was paid in one case through the publisher of one of Nishimura’s books. The writer Nakagawa meanwhile said 2channel can be addictive. He said research using software to detect the source of 2channel posting revealed that one party wrote about 1,500 entries in a single day.

Does the site convey any good or useful information?
If users can manage to separate fact from fiction, 2channel ca possibly serve as an excellent source of information. For example, industry insiders have posted revealing information. Such postings are sometimes condensed into popular books. Hundreds of volunteers post flash news – most of which is copied and pasted from other news Web sites – 24 hours a day, participants exchange comments. Also, 2channel sometimes help police and courts. It holds IP addresses and other related information that can identify people creating threads, or topics, and posting responses to the threads. In some past cases, 2channel’s operators provided such information when police requested help in catching criminals.

What is the most recent news?
This would be the March 1 attack on 2channel sourced to South Korea. Servers of 2channel located in San Francisco were overwhelmed with hits from more than 20,000 people in South Korea. The attack subsequently shut down more than half the 2channel servers that day, the weekly magazine AERA reported. The attacks were reportedly organized in retaliation for many 2channel postings that disparaged South Korea, including insults leveled at Olympic figure skater Kim Yu Na while heaping praise on her Japanese rival, Mao Asada. There apparently are many rightwing users who post derogatory references on 2channel against South Koreans.

As exactly this article says, anonymity is necessary for 2channel users. No sooner will you know that than you read the postings on 2channel. Many of them are not, at least, comfortable one. Without anonymity, most of 2channel users would never post their comments on the Web site. But one the other hand, you also have to admit that very precious, useful, funny, interesting and even creative information lay on the site, although very hard to find for beginners. As a matter of fact, news and frequently-used words on 2channel recently comes to appear on public TV program. You can’t help but realizing that how influential it is. I think every company or even government officers should pay attention to 2channel, to appropriate extent.
